Vynyl has been working hard for months and with every release, the music just gets better. I spoke with Tyler, the lead singer of Vynyl and got some of his input on the success of the song and ban in general. In late October last year, Vynyl released their first EP called “Pink”, it includes songs old fans recognized and new music. One of which helped them win Hometown for The Holidays in the past, and they’ve only gone up from there. “Hometown for the Holidays was such a blast! We honestly had no clue we would win, and had already reserved ourselves to the fact that one of the other bands had taken the crown for 2019. When they called our name, Hunter and I (Tyler) were shocked. We stumbled on to the stage in a bit of a daze and the whole experience felt like a whirlwind. Afterwards, it really helped us set our sights on what the future of this band could be (ha!). Knowing that we were now unable to compete again meant that we had to take the momentum and attention brought to us by this and use it to propel ourselves forward. It has opened a ton of doors for us in terms of playing larger gigs and festivals, and we are already working on our 2nd EP. We will be recording the first single off this EP in May at the Blasting Room, and we are incredibly excited to share the songs with you this summer.” Vynyl has been up and coming since 2015 with different band members but the founders Tyler Whiteley and Andrew Ceronio have put everything they have into making their dreams for this band come true. They started playing small venues like the Marquis Theater, but they’ve also played Red Rocks. “Playing at Red Rocks was a bit different than we expected, we didn't actually play the main stage. However, it was an amazing experience nonetheless! The entire venue has such a profound energy so it was still exciting, fun, and really allowed us to make some connections to hopefully come back again in the future!”So many bands from Colorado and around the country aspire to play Red Rocks in any way, and they accomplished it early in their time as a band.
But most recently they put out a song called “Who Could U Be”. This song fits their sound so well and stays true to their other music. Lead vocalist, Tyler, has an impactful voice which contributes to their overall uniqueness as a band. Through his voice, you can feel the emotion put into the music, whether you are seeing them live or if you’re listening to them in the car. It has electro elements in the chorus that add so much to the song, and makes it almost impossible not to dance to it.“Who Could U Be” is an upbeat song with mellow undertones. “Who Could U Be was based off of a recurring dream that Andrew kept having. He kept seeing this person in his dreams, but he could never see their face. As he continued having this dream, the face of this person became more and more clear. This was the basis for the song, and it developed over time however the core identity of it is rooted in this recurring dream.” As a band, they produce the duality of enjoying the beat and the intensity of the lyrics.
