1) How did you decide to start this project?
I started this project as a moniker for some songs I had written and never released. I am part of a number of other music projects, so I figured I would create a band that did solely my own songs and that I could be the Creative Lead for.
2) What is it like being in a band and this project also?
It is busy being in numerous bands, but I love being able to help people accomplish their musical goals, so it is extremely rewarding for me. As a creative person it is important for me to have variety so I can try new things and continue growing in new ways, and so I don’t get burned out doing only 1 thing and expecting that 1 thing to satisfy all of my creative needs.
3) Who inspires you?
I have a ton of inspiration. My dad has always been musical and is known for helping people, so that is a main driving inspiration for me. I also really love a variety of music and genres, which is why Olde Wise has bridged many different styles and genres.
4) What is a goal you have for this year, music wise?
With this project, my goal is to release more music this year, and begin playing full band shows in the Denver area. With music in general, I would love to continue seeing my friends accomplish their goals, and if I can help them in some way than that is great. But sometimes just supporting people is all that need help with!
5) How would you describe your sound?
I would say the style of this project resides somewhere between Indie Rock & Shoegaze. I love combining grunge elements with honest and honest, blissful melodies.
6) What does it feel like when you are on stage?
The feeling I get on stage is a sense of home. It can be difficult for me to be vulnerable sometimes, and getting in front of people on a microphone, for whatever reason, is comforting for me.
7) What do you like most about being able to create and share music?
For me, creating and sharing music is my way of contributing to peoples lives in an indirect way. I feel that every song speaks to people in a different way and allows them to search within. Some songs make people ask questions and begin a process of growing and learning, and some just help folks escape reality for a moment to clear their head.
8) What really sparked your love for music?
I grew up in a family of musicians, and in high school began writing my own songs, which is when I realized it was something I never wanted to stop doing.
9) Do you have plans to release music this year?
I plan to release a new single in the coming months, and will continue working with my producer to record a collection of singles during the remainder of the year.
