Upcoming and soon to be viral musician known as LolitaWorldwide online just released her new single "Sober Without Your Love", and she spoke to Local Focus about how she got into music, what her new song means to her, and more! Make sure to check our interview out and get ready for the music video coming out November 19!
1) What does making music mean to you?
Music is one of my favorite ways to connect with myself and others. Music is a universal language. It's one of the most graceful ways to express & communicate about the most trivial things to the most taboo and complex matters. I can hear the pain, joy, sorrow, etcetera in someone's voice regardless of what language they’re using in their music; emotions are a universal experience that most of us can innerstand through vibrations.
2) What introduced you to music and made you decide it was something you would like to pursue?
I imagine that music was always a passion of mine, even if it was dormant for a while. Growing up my father played the acoustic guitar and sang beautifully; he still picks it up sometimes to this day. I dabbled in music as a hobby in my childhood, but I took a greater interest in poetry for the majority of my adolescence. When It came time to decide on a major in college, I surprised myself and decided to major in music business. Once I graduated university I began to take myself seriously although I struggled with imposter syndrome from time to time.
3) How would you describe your sound?
Always changing, experimental, authentic. Alternative.
4) What is something you want to achieve through being an artist?
To be authentic, honor my uniqueness & in doing so to inspire others to honor their own uniqueness and authenticity.
5) You have a new single coming out soon, is there anything you would like to share about it?
I released a new song titled “Sober Without Your Love.” It’s a tribute to past relationships that have taught me so much about myself. I’ve realized that heartbreak has been one of my greatest teachers. I sat down with myself & dealt with the residue of former relationships. I cried, laughed, fell to my knees with anguish, and picked myself up. I’ve cursed at, pitied, forgiven, thanked, and finally honored those who have been the vessels for these lessons. I’m ready to close that chapter of my life and move forward with the gems that I’ve learned. I have a song that will be coming out hopefully before the end of the year that I’m very excited about; it's the cherry on top for this beautiful journey I’ve had with relationships.
6) If you could do anything other than create music what would it be?
I have the pleasure of having the time and energy to do both music as well as my other passion, one of which which is the study of metaphysics & language (etymology, semiotics).
7) What is one goal you have for your music in 2022?
To not only continue to create music that is authentic, but also release more of it along with visuals & music videos. I’d love to do more live performances and connect with fans on a more intimate and consistent basis.
8) Would you prefer to be a musician working in your hometown or somewhere like LA? Why?
I’ve had so much support from people, radio stations, blogs, venues, in my home state of Colorado. Working here has been amazing! I am happy to travel as well. I hope that my music reaches anyone in the universe who needs to hear it, and I appreciate all those who it resonates with!
9) What advice would you give to your younger self about your music career?
Be authentic. Trust the process. There is no one on this earth like you, your uniqueness is your superpower.
10) Anything else you would like to add?
I’ll be releasing a music video for “Sober Without Your Love,” It will be available to watch on my YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/lolitaworldwide on Thursday November 19th!
