1) How and when did you all meet?
I originally formed the band with JJ Anselmi in early 2011. We were both in country-ish bands at the time, and he heard me sound checking with Earth riffs at a show we were both playing, and we hit it off over our shared love of doom, drone, & sludge music. He and I wrote and recorded the first ITCOS album in the next few months following that. JJ left the band later that year when he moved out of state, and Joe Myer stepped in & has been behind the kit for every record we've done since. 2) What made you want to start this band? A love of heavy music. 3) When did you realize how much you love music? I became interested in music at when I was maybe 7 or 8 years old, and started my record collection with cassettes from bands like Nirvana & Soundgarden, & classic rock radio staples like AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, & the Beatles. 4) What is your favorite song to perform? Limitless Light 5) How would you describe your sound? visceral, riff-driven esoteric doom. 6) What do you want to achieve through your music? Many people lose sight of how cathartic heavy music can be, but catharsis is our primary aim for our sound. 7) Who is your biggest inspiration? In heavy music, Neurosis, Yob, & Swans all create immense, primal music that we love. 8) Thank you, anything to add? We're playing the record release/tour kickoff show for our friends in Echo Beds on Sunday, 8/12 at Mutiny Information Cafe, and then will be headed out on a brief tour surrounding our appearance at Scorched Tundra Fest in Chicago at the end of the month.
